More than a hybrid approach
In 1992, a group of families with a vision for education and community set out to build a school that incorporated the instruction of excellent classroom teachers and the benefits of a home school schedule in pursuit of faithful, discipleship-led learning. That school, Grace Preparatory, was the first University-Model school and its success sparked interest throughout the US. As the network grew, University-Model schools incorporated into an accredited program that holds high standards for Christian education. Through NAUMS, the National Association of University Model Schools, we uphold the standards of this certification. Our shared purpose as a network of schools is discipleship and our methodology goes beyond the traditional hybrid school to develop a student with a deepening love for God and a desire for wisdom.
Alongside our NAUMS certification is our COGNIA accreditation which signifies that CrossPointe has passed a rigorous, independent evaluation, proving it meets high standards for teaching quality, governance, and a commitment to continuous student improvement.
Our History
In late 2008, Tammy Dawson, one of the CrossPointe Preparatory School Board members, encouraged the Board to be prepared for its “ob portu,” a Latin phrase describing a ship waiting for the precise moment when the tide was exactly right to carry it into harbor. She desired that the Board recognize, and be prepared for, the opportunity to move forward with CrossPointe when God provided it. Over the three years prior to 2009, God had orchestrated the paths of many to prepare for the opening of CrossPointe Preparatory in Searcy in 2009. Read the story of Our History here.
